Israel to build monument honoring Red Army

An international commission has selected a monument project for construction which will be built in the Israeli city of Netanya to commemorate soldiers of the USSR who fought Nazi Germany and saved prisoners of the death camps during World War II. The original idea of this memorial  was proposed by WCRJ President Boris Shpigel to to Benjamin  Netaniyahu.

Latvian Jews struggle to recover property lost in Holocaust

Local Jewish leaders say that they only want what was stolen to be returned. However, they realize that this may be difficult with current attitudes in Latvia. “Unfortunately, many believe the Latvian Waffen SS who fought against the Bolsheviks were liberators. But they in fact were bandits and robbers,” said Josef Koren, from the World Without Nazism movement. “I have seen documents listing real estate that belonged to Jews killed in ghettos. I think that property should be returned.” The amount of reparations claimed by Latvian Jews is around $65 million.

The participants will call upon the UN and the Council of Europe as we ass the governments of their member-states to become our partners and to provide support to the activities of “World without Nazism” Movement. They will call upon representatives of the civil society of different countries to join the Movement.
