The European Council of Jewish Communities (ECJC), the World Congress of Russian Jewry (WCRJ), the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress (EAJC) and the All-Ukrainian Jewish Congress (AUJC) held a Hanukkah Candle Lighting Ceremony in the heart of Brussels at the Rond-Point Schuman on Sunday, 21st December, 2008. For the first time the Jewish Communal Leadership of Eastern, Central and Western Europe stood united in Brussels. This marks the beginning of a new chapter between European Jewry and the EU Institutions.
