Approaches to the transfer of Russian-speaking children to Israeli families must be reviewed.The WCRJ organized a roundtable conference on the rights of children and families in Jerusalem on March 22. The discussion centered on the integration of Russian-speaking Israelis with Israeli society, and on legal and administrative problems arising due to differences in mentality and cultures.

EUROPEAN JEWS MARK THE BEGINNING OF A NEW ERA WITH THE EUROPEAN UNIONThe European Council of Jewish Communities (ECJC), the World Congress of Russian Jewry (WCRJ), the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress (EAJC) and the All-Ukrainian Jewish Congress (AUJC) held a Hanukkah Candle Lighting Ceremony in the heart of Brussels at the Rond-Point Schuman on Sunday, 21st December, 2008. For the first time the Jewish Communal Leadership of Eastern, Central and Western Europe stood united in Brussels. This is a strategic move to secure the interests of Jewish communities in both, the FSU countries and Western Europe and to build ongoing relationships with the EU.
The deputies put on the badges, which read "November 9 - Never Again!" in Russian, German and English, at the initiative of the World Congress of Russian Jewry. The action in the Latvian Parliament was proposed by Boris Cilevich, chairman of the Latvian deputy group for cooperation with the Israeli Parliament and a member of the WCRJ parliamentary club.
