30.03.2009 Anti-Semitic graffiti more frequent in Kyiv - Jewish Fund of Ukraine
The Jewish Fund of Ukraine (JFU) Public Council intends to submit to the Kyiv city administration and the Ukrainian president's Secretariat a photo report of graffiti insulting the national dignity of Jews and representatives of other ethnic communities.

22.03.2009 Approaches to the transfer of Russian-speaking children to Israeli families must be reviewed.
The WCRJ organized a roundtable conference on the rights of children and families in Jerusalem on March 22. The discussion centered on the integration of Russian-speaking Israelis with Israeli society, and on legal and administrative problems arising due to differences in mentality and cultures.

20.03.2009 WCRJ supports the decision to terminate the unjust practice of paying differing compensation sums for Holocaust survivors depending on the country of residence
The World Congress of Russian Jewry hailed a decision by Germany to raise the allowances it pays to Holocaust survivors living in former Soviet republics to the level of those it pays Jewish victims of Nazism living in European Union.

10.02.2009 New York Day of Immigrants Rights
Immigrants from the former Soviet Union lobby New York state legislators for broadening the rights of Russian-speaking citizens on the Day of Immigrants Rights. Members of the American Forum World Congress of Russian Jewry visited Olbany on February 10. The first-ever Russian legislator in America, New York lawmaker Alec Brook-Krasny, actively assisted the organization of the meeting.

03.02.2009 American Forum of the World Congress of Russian Jewry concerning the events in Venezuela
The building of the country’s oldest Sephardic synagogue was vandalized by an organized gang on the night of January 30^th /31^st in Karakas, capital city of Venezuela. Damages, including inscriptions and slogans painted on the building walls clearly give evidence to the anti-Semitic motives of the action. It is the culmination of the anti-Israeli and anti-Jewish hysteria instigated by Hugo Chavez’ government in the country that for centuries has been a home to one of the most organized Jewish communities on the South American continent.

21.12.2008 EUROPEAN JEWS MARK THE BEGINNING OF A NEW ERA WITH THE EUROPEAN UNION
The European Council of Jewish Communities (ECJC), the World Congress of Russian Jewry (WCRJ), the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress (EAJC) and the All-Ukrainian Jewish Congress (AUJC) held a Hanukkah Candle Lighting Ceremony in the heart of Brussels at the Rond-Point Schuman on Sunday, 21st December, 2008. For the first time the Jewish Communal Leadership of Eastern, Central and Western Europe stood united in Brussels. This is a strategic move to secure the interests of Jewish communities in both, the FSU countries and Western Europe and to build ongoing relationships with the EU.

13.11.2008 Latvian MPs pay homage to Kristallnacht victims
The deputies put on the badges, which read "November 9 - Never Again!" in Russian, German and English, at the initiative of the World Congress of Russian Jewry. The action in the Latvian Parliament was proposed by Boris Cilevich, chairman of the Latvian deputy group for cooperation with the Israeli Parliament and a member of the WCRJ parliamentary club.
